Investment Integrity Audit

The swisspartners services for the consolidation and audit of large foundation- and family wealth.

Starting position and target group

Substantial wealth is usually allocated throughout several banks and entrusted for administration to different asset managers. Investment Integrity Audit – a service of swisspartners – comprises for the first time an ongoing consolidation of so distributed wealth (including non-bankable assets), thereby permitting an integral asset oversight.

The items of concern include primarily large to very large assets usually administered by several asset managers on a mandate basis within various financial institutes.

The service is aimed at beneficial owners or at authorised asset managers, for example: foundations, family offices or sizable asset managers, who generally are not equipped with adequate systems that would enable an integral vie point.

Procedure and scope

Combined assets across various sub-funds are captured in a specialized software solution of swisspartners to be assessed and evaluated according to the standard criteria. The valuation date can be carried on as a part of the transaction-based asset accounting. This provides, on top of a daily updated integral oversight of the entire assets, a parallel objective performance measurement of the total wealth and of the sub-funds. The exact scope of the audit is determined on a case by case basis.

The Investment Integrity Audit covers usually the following aspects:

  • Formal Integrit – Here it will be verified if the authorised asset manager fully complies with the provisions specified in the mandate contracts (bandwidths, restrictions, etc.).
  • Substantive Integrity – Here the transparency of all transactions will be reviewed.
  • Performance Integrity – The performance of each asset manager’s part of wealth he administers is examined on one hand – in absolute terms, on the other – in peer- and benchmark comparison.
  • Extended Analysis- Further aspects are also examined and assessed, notably the choice of the risk profile, the strategic asset allocation of total assets, the value at risk, etc.
