On September 30, 2017, the Zurich Philharmonic Orchestra invited citizens of Zurich and all music enthusiasts to participate in the season’s opening ceremony at their temporary home location in the Maag Concert Hall (Maag Areal). During the coming three years, the Zurich Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing there while the old Zurich Concert Hall at the lake (die Tonhalle) is being brought to a new glory. Last Saturday, around 7,500 visitors went to the up-and-coming Zurich West district, where they were treated to the delights of the open-air classical music concerts on the Maag Plaza. swisspartners hosted the event, which included all the concerts on the Maag Plaza. swisspartners also sponsored the live broadcasting of the evening concert, which was projected on a large screen on the Maag Plaza. The event lasting all day attracted large crowds. Hundreds of people stayed on the Plaza for the evening concert to experience Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 via live transmission.
We at swisspartners are delighted that through our involvement we could be a part of such a wonderful event that brought together so many of the people living in Zurich as well as other music lovers.
swisspartners wishes the Zurich Philharmonic Orchestra a successful season 2017/2018 in their new home, the Maag Concert Hall located on the Maag Areal.
